Why it matters

Why Installation Process Matters

Flooring problems often come from unclear site condition, wrong accessories, poor subfloor preparation, rushed installation or incomplete handover. The process should make each of those checkpoints visible.

Before quotation

Measurement makes the quote more useful because the real site condition is checked before the final work is confirmed.

Before installation

Product, trims, skirting, access and preparation items should be aligned before the team arrives on site.

SPC installation rule

Enoch SPC must be planned and installed as straight plank or standard staggered flooring only. Herringbone/fishbone, chevron, 人字拼, 鱼骨拼 and other angled click-lock layouts must not be planned, quoted or installed for Enoch SPC. Herringbone/fishbone and chevron layouts need boards designed for angled cuts, compatible click profiles and a layout plan that protects the joint. 人字拼 and 鱼骨拼 are outside Enoch SPC planning. Using a normal click-lock SPC board that way can create avoidable joint stress, gaps or lock damage.

Before handover

The finished floor should be reviewed against the confirmed work, not left to memory after everyone leaves.

Process

Step-by-Step Flooring Installation Process

The process below follows the job from first site context to measurement, specification, scheduling, installation and handover.

Step 1

Initial Enquiry

Share the property type, rough area, room photos and timeline so the installation details can start from the right site context.

Step 2

Site Measurement

A site check helps confirm actual area, room layout, access, floor condition and whether extra preparation may be needed.

Step 3

Product and Specification Confirmation

Confirm flooring type, colour direction, board size, trims, skirting, accessories and layout direction before the installation date is fixed. Enoch SPC is straight plank or standard staggered only; herringbone/fishbone, chevron, 人字拼 and 鱼骨拼 must not be used for Enoch SPC.

Step 4

Quotation Based on Actual Site Details

The written work details should reflect measured area, selected material, installation work and any site-condition items that need to be handled.

Step 5

Installation Scheduling

Scheduling is planned around site readiness, material availability, property access, lift booking and project coordination where required.

Step 6

Installation Day

The installation team follows the confirmed work, handles site details and checks finishing direction during the work.

Step 7

Final Handover

Before closing the job, the floor should be checked for product match, walking feel, edge finishing, cleanup and aftercare direction.

Handover

Handover Checklist

A handover checklist helps customers confirm the visible result, the finishing details and the support records before the installation is treated as complete.

1

Product match

Confirm the installed product matches the confirmed product selection.

2

Surface condition

Check visible surface finish, obvious damage and installed appearance.

3

Layout direction

For Enoch SPC, confirm straight plank or standard staggered direction. Herringbone/fishbone, chevron, 人字拼, 鱼骨拼 and other angled SPC patterns must not be used.

4

Edge finishing

Review exposed edges, corners, transitions and door areas.

5

Skirting / trims

Confirm skirting, trims and accessories are installed according to the confirmed work.

6

Walking feel

Walk through key areas to check feel, noise and obvious movement.

7

Cleanup

Confirm practical site cleanup after installation work.

8

Aftercare

Receive basic cleaning and use guidance for the flooring type.

9

Support contact

Know who to contact if a handover question appears later.

FAQ

Flooring Installation FAQs

Short answers about measurement, installation timing and final handover.

Do I need site measurement before getting a quotation?

A rough estimate can start from your floor plan or photos, but site measurement is recommended before final quotation because actual area, floor condition, trims and access can change the work needed.

Why can the final price change after measurement?

The final price can change when the measured area, existing floor condition, old flooring removal, subfloor levelling, skirting, trimming or access requirements are different from the first estimate.

Can you install flooring for HDB or BTO units?

Yes. Enoch Flooring can support HDB flats, BTO units, resale flats, condos and selected commercial projects, subject to site condition and project requirements.

How long does flooring installation take?

The timeline depends on area size, site readiness, material availability, floor condition, access rules and project coordination. We confirm the practical schedule after reviewing the site and work details.

What should I prepare before measurement?

Prepare your floor plan if available, room photos, property type, preferred flooring type, rough timeline and whether the existing floor needs to stay or be removed.

Can Enoch SPC be installed in herringbone, fishbone or chevron patterns?

No. Enoch SPC must be planned and installed as straight plank or standard staggered flooring only. Herringbone/fishbone, chevron, 人字拼, 鱼骨拼 and other angled click-lock layouts must not be used for Enoch SPC because they need a different board, cut plan and locking layout.

What happens after installation?

The handover should include checking product match, surface condition, edge finishing, trims, walking feel, cleanup, aftercare guidance and support contact.
