Is SPC Flooring Waterproof?

The SPC core is water-resistant and does not swell like wood-based laminate. The complete floor result still depends on joints, edges, subfloor condition, installation and how water is handled in the room.

Why it matters

Singapore homes often need practical water resistance, but a floor is not protected by the core alone. Edges, skirting, wet areas and maintenance still matter.

Core resistance vs installed floor

SPC has a rigid mineral-PVC core. That core handles water exposure better than wood-fiber cores, but water can still reach edges, walls, gaps and subfloor areas.

The plank core is only one part of the installed floor.

Room use and cleaning habits change the risk.

Transitions and perimeter finishing should be checked before installation.

How Enoch treats waterproof claims

Enoch does not treat one word as proof. We look at product construction, room use, current floor condition and installation details before recommending a material.

For normal indoor spills, SPC can be a practical choice.

For wet areas, the full site condition must be reviewed.

For unclear conditions, send photos before choosing.
